Survivorship
Breast Cancer Survivorship & Wellness
Completing treatment for breast cancer is an important milestone, however recovery and wellbeing continue long after surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or reconstruction. Survivorship involves not only ongoing medical follow-up, but also supporting physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, confidence, and long-term health after breast cancer treatment.
A/Prof Farid Meybodi and his multidisciplinary colleagues are committed to providing compassionate, coordinated care that supports patients throughout every stage of survivorship and wellness.
Life After Breast Cancer Treatment
Every patient’s experience following breast cancer treatment is different. Some women recover quickly, while others may continue to experience physical or emotional effects related to treatment and recovery.
Common concerns after treatment may include:
- Fatigue and reduced energy
- Scar healing and body image adjustment
- Tightness or reduced shoulder movement
- Lymphoedema concerns
- Anxiety regarding recurrence
- Menopausal or hormonal symptoms
- Ongoing effects of systemic therapies
Recovery is often gradual, and ongoing support can play an important role in improving quality of life and long-term wellbeing.
Follow-Up Care & Surveillance

- Review ongoing symptoms or treatment effects
- Coordinate breast imaging and surveillance
- Detect any recurrence or new breast changes early
- Support long-term wellness and breast health
Follow-up care is tailored to each patient’s diagnosis, treatment history, and individual needs.
Patients are encouraged to continue breast awareness and seek review if they notice any new breast symptoms or concerns.
