First Visit Guide
Your First Visit
We understand that attending your first appointment can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when you are experiencing symptoms, awaiting results, or navigating a new diagnosis. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive, and professional environment where you feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout your consultation experience.
Your first visit is an opportunity to discuss your concerns in detail, review any relevant imaging or pathology, and develop a personalised plan for investigation, treatment, or ongoing care.
Preparing for Your Appointment
To help ensure your consultation is as comprehensive and efficient as possible, we encourage patients to bring:
- referral letter
- imaging reports and scans
- pathology or biopsy results
- current medication list
- relevant medical history
- details of previous breast or surgical procedures
If you have already completed imaging or investigations elsewhere, bringing copies of your scans and reports can assist with timely review and treatment planning.
What to Expect During Your Consultation
During your appointment, A/Prof Farid Meybodi will take the time to:
- discuss your symptoms and concerns
- review your medical and family history
- examine imaging and pathology results
- perform a clinical examination where appropriate
- explain findings and possible diagnoses
- discuss treatment options and next steps
Every patient’s situation is unique, and recommendations are tailored to your individual needs, preferences, and overall health goals.
We encourage patients to ask questions and take an active role in understanding their diagnosis and treatment options.
Additional Investigations
Depending on your symptoms or existing results, further investigations may sometimes be recommended. These may include:
- mammography
